This buffer plate is designed to help. It solves the problem of insulating RF readers from a metal pedestal or housing. Constituted from High Density Polyethelene (HDPE), this buffer plate not only provides a dense, non-conductive back plate for your card reader, it also separates your RF reader a full inch away from the metal surface.
With its universal pattern of pre-drilled & countersunk holes and other markings, this buffer plate is designed to be little (if any) work for an installer to use for any combination of reader, pedestal, housing, wall, etc. Markings on the surface of the buffer plate match up to HID and other RF card reader hole patterns... and the countersunk holes allow the use of socket wrenches and recessed nuts so your card reader mounts flush.
