The THHN in THHN wire stands for Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon coated. It is either manufactured in copper or aluminum and covered in a PVC insulation with a nylon jacket. Depending on the size, THHN can come in stranded or solid conductors. THHN building wire can also be used for the wiring of control circuits and machine tools.
